October 2008
I haven't got a lot to update on at this time of year, the race season is continuing but I decided to take my break early. I feel so much better for having a rest. I had four weeks off training which was my first real break for four years!
I had thought about going away in this time but it was nice to stay at home and not be rushing out the door training all the time. I am now training again and it hurts! After having time off I had forgotten how hard it is to get back into it so my first few swim sessions were painful. My fitness is coming back slowly as training is relaxed at the moment, so I'm just enjoying it.
I head off to Florida in a couple of weeks for my wedding and a holiday at last! It's been a good time to reflect on my season and I can't wait to put in a good winter of training and get back out there competing next year. This year was fantastic so I hope I have a great 2009 and I think the key will being staying injury free, and hopefully keeping away from any colds!
