September 2010

August has been quiet competition wise, but eventful and challenging. I went to a training camp in Korea after the World Cup competition in July. It went really well; I got to train and spar with some World and Olympic medal winning athletes, which was really good, really motivational, but hard work!

I returned August 14 and went straight back to training to finish off my preparations for the U21 European Championships in Ukraine in September. During training I badly twisted my ankle and ruptured ligaments. It was annoying and frustrating and I've spent the last week or so nursing it back to some kind of health.

I'm not 100% but have decided to take my chance at the competition. I'm obviously hoping it holds up both for this comp and the British International at the end of September in Manchester. Some good fighters are competing, so it will be another hard competition for me.

That's it really for August. I'm just off to catch a train down to Luton for my flight to Ukraine and I have my fingers crossed that everything goes OK for me. News on how I do in Ukraine and the British International next month.

Speak soon,

Aaron
