Biography
Date of Birth: 20th May 1982
Place of birth: London
Lives and trains: Twickenham, London in between training in the mountains
In March 2004, whilst on a university ski trip in France, I had an accident that changed my life. Not landing correctly from a jump, I broke the 1st lumbar vertebra in my back, which left me paralysed from the waist down.
I spent the following months adapting to life in a wheelchair, but, incredibly, within a year of breaking my back I was skiing again, this time in a sit-ski. Luckily, my previous skiing experience and my good sitting balance meant I picked it up quickly.
I am now in the British “A" Team, am in the top 50 disabled skiers in the world, am British Slalom Champion 2008 and a member of the 2010 Winter Paralympics team.
